StayUMC Recommends Voting NO TO DISAFFILIATION.   The UMC is a proven, low risk and strong evangelical partner that aligns with values and principles of Bethany's diverse members.

The UMC provides the best option for keeping the Bethany family together.   

  • We know and have grown up with stable UMC doctrines and disciplines.  And only the General Conference speaks for the United Methodist Church.   

  • The UMC has and will continue to uphold a strong connectional network founded on the Word of Jesus Christ.   

  • The UMC is working to reconcile Book of Discipline wording that is acceptable to all and harmful to NONE.   It is not about a strict theological doctrine, it is about growing our collective discipleship across our connectional network.   God's Spirit works in mysterious ways and through the networks we are connected with. 

  • The values and principles of UMC have not changed at its core since it's inception.  And the UMC is perfectly aligned the values and principles of Bethany.   This is why it is the strongest option for keeping Bethany's family together.   

GMC allies: we welcome and invite you!  We firmly believe that the UMC does and will continue to affirm traditional beliefs and honor traditional viewpoints.  We want all of us be a part of the BUMC family. 

Above all else we pray our words bring glory to God and love to our community.   Let no words on this blog burden anyone's beliefs.  Finally, we pray God's Will be done by each of us voting their conscience.
