Apportionments - With UMC we are connected to so many Global Ministries
Where does the Bethany Apportionment go? Part of our funds goes to the Global Ministries. And there has never been a greater need for us to be a part of United Methodist connectional missions. In such a time as this with natural and human-made disasters. a pandemic loneliness sadness strife and uncertainty. UMC bring healing, missions and Bethany's Spirit into the world.
The message that Bethany is already independent does not accurately
describe how connected we are to all United Methodist acting in the world!
Please take time to get informed and watch the video below. Our apportionment feeds the needs of so many. The "independence" message and the "zero apportionment" messages are really about stepping back from our connections and Wesleyan call to serve - to be in mission in the world.
The general Board of Global Ministries is the mission and humanitarian relief agency of the United Methodist Church that connects Bethany in Mission through programs in four priority areas
- Missionary service
- Evangelism and church revitalization
- Humanitarian relief and recovery and
- Global health
As United Methodist we are encouraged to love one another and to help one another to do good deeds. Our contributions impact the world in:
- supporting more than 200 dedicated missionaries,
an additional 200 Nationals and Mission share the love of God, - UMC missions bring Health Services to communities,
- aid of affected by disaster,
- missional churches serve in countless other roles,
- evangelism and Church in vitalization efforts includes,
- support for multi-ethic ministries in the United States and Mission initiatives in Asia, Africa and Central America,
- develop strong and resilient churches and communities,
- Humanitarian relief and Recovery efforts are more crucial than ever in a world of devastating national disasters,
- help feeble communities struck by tornadoes earthquakes and storms in the United States (all working through annual conferences and internationally),
- we continue the important Ministry today of working with those are fueled by war and civil conflicts,
- Global health ministries helps develop Health infrastructures to enable vulnerable communities to overcome preventable diseases malnutrition and lack of access to Medical Services,
- our missions address maternal and newborn health concerns,
- improve clean water and sanitation and as national disasters,
- promoting environmental sustainability to projects that stress renewable energy sources in Africa,
