StayUMC: UMC always seeks to move forward in a unified direction.

#StayUMC Recommends Voting NO TO DISAFFILIATION.   The UMC is a proven, low risk and strong evangelical partner that aligns with values and principles of Bethany's diverse members.

The UMC has and will always move forward in a unified direction.   

  • Only God knows the direction of the UMC.   There is nothing to fear about the future of what the UMC will become.   We do know that the connectional network of the UMC has been alive for >400 years.  It has always and will continue to empower and protect our church and family.  

  • I know the UMC community loves Bethany and is praying for us.   The UMC and its network has been a partner in Bethany’s journey - through the high points and the low points.   The UMC will not abandon Bethany to the sea of independent denominations - EVER.   

    • Watch the Rio Texas annual conference and you will see UMC leaders offering grace, love, honor and protection for those disaffiliation.    We know the GMC will cast out anyone who disagrees with strict traditional views.  While we do not know how MCC would behave, we know most independent denominations steer to very strict traditional values. Why take this risk?   Consider what we will say at Bethany’s sexuality class for youths?   We ARE independent already as several Lead Team members stated. 
Above all else we pray our words bring glory to God and love to our community.   Let no words on this blog burden anyone's beliefs.  Finally, we pray God's Will be done by each of us voting their conscience.
